Richard joined A J Park in 2007 and is a patent executive in our Auckland office. He specialises in patent law for mechanical engineering and manufacturing innovations.

Richard has experience with automation and control systems, food and beverage processing and industrial software development. He works with companies in the healthcare, manufacturing and home appliance industries.

Richard's work includes:

  • patent novelty and infringement searches
  • filing and prosecuting New Zealand and overseas patent applications.
  • advises on patent novelty and infringements
  • advises on design registration
  • conducts design searches and files design applications in New Zealand and overseas.


Before A J Park, Richard worked as a system engineer with Macro Automation and a mechanical engineer with Beca Carter Hollings & Ferner.

Richard completed a Master of Engineering degree (with Honours) from the University of Auckland. His Masters project involved system modeling and controller design with application to waste management.

Richard is currently studying towards a law degree at the University of Auckland and his patent attorney qualifications
