Yinman has knowledge in a range of scientific areas, including fields such as organic synthetic chemistry, analytical chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology and biochemistry.
As part of his role at A J Park, Yinman:
- conducts prior art searching and advises on patentability
- conducts infringement and freedom-to-operate assessments
- prepares patent specifications for local clients
- files patent applications for local and overseas clients.
Yinman completed his Bachelors of Science degree in 2007 and graduated with first class honours from the University of Auckland. During Yinman's honours year, his project involved the synthesis of E-ring analogues of Methyllycaconitine, a potent natural compound found in Delphinium Brownii. Methyllycaconitine binds with high specificity to neuronal receptors and is a lead compound for the treatment in Alzheimer's disease.
Yinman is currently studying towards his patent attorney qualification and a Bachelors of Law at the University of Auckland.
