Kate joined A J Park in 1998 and specialises in intellectual property litigation. She has litigation experience relating to all types of intellectual property including patents, trade marks, copyright and registered designs.

Kate's particular area of interest is working with pharmaceutical inventions and she has been involved in patent cases for several large international corporations including GlaxoSmithKline, AstraZeneca, and Merck.  She has also acted in patent cases for clients in the manufacturing and telecommunications industries.

Kate is part of our advertising team, which advises on legal, advertising code, and industry regulatory requirements for marketing in New Zealand.

Kate appears before the Commissioner at hearings held in the Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand (IPONZ) on trade mark and patent matters.  She has represented clients in the High Court and has been involved in cases in the Court of Appeal.

Kate is a fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Patent Attorneys (NZIPA) and a member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ). She is also a member of the New Zealand Law Society.
